Why elevating women’s voices in Myanmar to address the country’s various crises should be of utmost concern

Members of GWL: Voices for Change and Inclusion, Mary Robinson, Melanne Verveer, and Noeleen Heyzer recently met with four women from the Myanmar National Unity Government (the most female represented cabinet in the country ‘s history).  The meeting went over key topics such as the sharing of experiences, multilateral frameworks, women’s leadership, and foreign diplomacy. The long-term goals from this meeting are to include the NUG in engaged negotiations and to help prosper their goals for the country – which seek to enhance inclusive socio-economic and political reconfiguration.
