The Spanish chapter of GWL Voices led by its president Susana Malcorra, held today, June 23rd, a breakfast meeting with Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Ms.Yoo Soon-taek in Madrid, official headquarters of GWL Voices.

The meeting was attended by GWL Voices members Ms. Ana Palacio, Ms. Arancha González Laya and Ms. Cristina Gallach, along with Ms. Susana Malcorra.
During the meeting, the main challenges in the field of multilateralism and the equality of women and girls in the world were discussed. On the other hand, a brief explanation of the future lines of work of GWL Voices has been made as well as the alliances and milestones achieved since the first action of GWL Voices in 2019.
For his part, the Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has highlighted and supported the great role played by GWL Voices and feminist movements, and has also stressed the importance of incorporating women into decision-making positions and power to achieve just an equal societies.
GWL Voices thanked the Secretary General for his willingness and support with a commemorative plaque.
This meeting represents a step forward in strengthening the alliances of the organization that operates with determination to be part of the network of networks that promotes multilateralism as a key tool for advancing the rights of women and girls around the world.
