María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, GWL Voices for Change and Inclusion, Executive Director, participated in the official side event co-organized by the Observer Research Foundation in Goa India, in partnership with India’s G20 India Secretariat on ‘Women-Led Development: Pillars of Progress’ at the 3rd Development Working Group Meeting.
María Fernanda Espinosa highlighted the need to design institutions and systems that allow and welcome feminist leadership, and how sisterhood and brotherhood alliances with feminist men are critical to this development and also pointed out that the shift from women’s development to women-led development is essential to empower women, allowing them to play a transformative role in society. Equality and power sharing are critical for women-led development.
